Web design and development
A website that looks pretty and brings in no customers is an expensive brochure. The difference is what it does when someone arrives.
In short
IstmoDigital designs and builds websites for companies in Panama on three conditions we do not negotiate: that it loads fast on mobile data, that the client can edit it without calling us, and that every visit showing interest is recorded as a contact in a CRM instead of being lost. We work from the corporate site through to online stores with Yappy and Stripe, and every page ships ready both for Google and to be cited by AI assistants.
In Panama a good share of traffic arrives on a phone with a patchy connection. We optimise for that, not for office fibre.
Your team changes a text, a price or a photo. Depending on the supplier to edit a comma is why websites go stale.
Forms that reach a person, a visible WhatsApp button, and calls to action where people decide. Design serves that, not the other way round.
Every form enters the CRM as a contact, with the campaign that brought it. Without that you cannot know which investment works.
Structured data, self-contained content and AI crawlers allowed from day one. It is far cheaper to do while building than afterwards.
HTTPS, security headers, backups and a privacy notice compliant with Law 81 of 2019. A form that collects data without consent is a legal problem.
The real list is short, and having these ready halves the project:
What not you do not need up front: all the copy written. That part gets worked on together, because what sounds good in a meeting is not always what people search for on Google.
Rebuilding a site because "it looks old" is the worst possible reason, and the most common one. An ugly site that brings in customers is worth more than a beautiful one that does not. The valid reasons to redesign:
If your site works and you only want it to look better, it is often more profitable to put that budget into content and search visibility. We will tell you so even if it means a smaller project.
There is a price band in the Panamanian market where a website costs very little, and it is worth knowing what you are buying. It is usually a generic template thrown together quickly, with three consequences that show up later.
The first: you own nothing. The site lives in the supplier's account and the day you want to move there is nothing to move. Before signing, ask who owns the domain, who owns the hosting and who owns the content, and get it in writing.
The second: it cannot rank. Templates that render everything with JavaScript, with no heading structure or structured data, and no separate page per service. The site exists and is invisible.
The third: it measures nothing. With no analytics and no CRM connection, there is no way to know whether it works. A site that measures nothing is a decision taken blind every month.
This does not mean expensive is better. It means the right question is not how much it costs, but what it includes, who owns it and what happens a year from now.
We start by understanding what your customer is looking for, not what you like. That defines the structure: how many pages are needed and what each one answers. One page per service, each answering a real search intent, instead of a single page that mentions everything.
Then comes design and development, with reviews on something you can already open on a phone, not on a picture. And before publishing, the checks: that it loads fast, looks right on mobile, that forms arrive, that the structured data is correct and that the crawlers — Google's and the AI ones — can read it.
On delivery the site is yours: domain, hosting, content and credentials. And if you also want it to serve whoever arrives out of hours, the web agent installs with one line of code and talks using your information.
